yep it's broken...and the rest of my week

well the 4th toe is broken in three places. so i have a ginormous boot to wear. even though said toe sticks out the front of the boot, i think the weight is distributed so pressure is averted from it. the funny thing is i can't drive with it on. so i have to drive around with a flip flop on (or barefoot) the put it on when i arrive at my destination. very incovnenient.

scott left for hunstsville, al this morning for a business trip so it is single mom hood for me for a few days. i am very thankful that three years and 5 months ago God moved in a mighty way and let me have that man back!

kayti has an aversion to showers and baths. she doesn't want any part of them. it is always 'tomorrow.' so on the idea of my girlfriends i took her to bath and body works yesterday and let her pick out body wash and shower gel and we made a deal on the frequency of bathing and washing of hair. we'll see how it goes!

i got my first money from unemployment this week. that was nice. it is all so uncertain. should i loook in earnest for a job or just enjoy this for a while? i have to apply for jobs to maintain unemployment, so maybe the right job will present itself during the process divinely and i will know. the whole not knowing is wild to me.

broken toes?

so i was coming down the stairs last night with full hands and the dastardly things were so slippery. i fell and nailed myself. i thought i was fine for a few seconds until i realized i couldn't move my two toes (number 3 & 4) on my left foot. so instead of church today i am off to the clinic to have it checked out. most likely they'll have to just heal on their own (spoken from someone who has broken her pinky toe twice) but just to be sure i will go in anway.

my sister left this week and it was the hardest thing ever. even though i know it couldn't go on forever, it was a sweet, sweet time. laughs and tears. now she is home and so happy to be there. and it is nice to be a family again.

2 deer

earlier i reported scott had no deer this season. he has gotten 2 now...in the same day. more meat in the freezer. this is the last weekend of hunting season. he is out now.

mallory's antics

so...mallory. i have been so busy with my sister. i was laying in bed and asked mallory to get my book from downstairs. with a stomp she said, "i have to do everything for this family!"

then she said, trying to convince me to sleep in her room, "if i am by myself i will dream about candy canes, and it is so hard!"

she is a drama queen. funny to watch her.

a new arrival

the holidays were fun. watching the kids enjoy it was my favorite part. i guess that means i am a grown up now.

the real fun part started when i got to fly down to norfolk, va to drive up to fort wayne with my sister kay, her daughter maddie june and their dog cooper. we took two days and drove through snow. she was to stay for one month since her husband is on deployment in the navy until april.

well...she is staying a little longer than that because while she was here she had a baby! ainsley claire was not due until february 15th. she arrived december 28th. i got to be a part of the whole process and even see her come into the world. baby is getting stronger everyday. she is beautiful.

the miracle of life is amazing and never gets old. especially the life of a 33 week old as she beats the odds that were stacked up against her. what a blessing.
